will this be too much for a 20 gallon? i have zoas, rics, shrooms, xenia, purple condy if that helps.. with that lighting it will put me at 8.9 watts per gallon.. :dunno:

Yeah, that'll be overkill on a 20 gal...and your tank will heat up a lot.

i think you could do it. i had a 150 watt on my 10 gallon
i dont know.. 48w w/out a glass cover and im losing a lot of water to evaporation already..
