I was actually at my LFS today and I asked what kind of protein skimmer they had. They said that they had a $160 (for up to 150 gallons) instant ocean "sea clone". I came home and found that they had awful reviews and that I could buy them on the internet for $80!

Yes, SeaClones are about the worst skimmer you can get. Stay away from those!

Can I get the Bubble Magus in the U.S.? It seems that between the price of the shipping and that fact that I'd need a voltage converter, it would be better to go with the reef octopus: Octopus Extreme 200 Protein Skimmer - English

The Bubble Magus isn't cheaper. There's one site that has it for $230 but it's $80 shipping. I can't find much information on this model, anyone used it?

I've been reading and people say this skimmer doesn't come with any instructions:shock:?? How do I find out what level the water in the sump should be? In a video someone said they had it in about 7" of water. I have about 16" in mine:grumble:... They don't even have this model on the reef octopus website! :frustrat:
