New lighting

fastrd400

It wasn't me!
I installed a pair of 250 watt MH pendants tonight in my canopy. I am doubling my light with just those alone. I know that I need to acclimate my corals to the new more intense light, but am not sure where to start. Does anyone have any suggestions or a schedule to follow to bring my lighting back up to 8 - 10 hours a day?:glassesy:

I am working on that as we speak Dave. I still have to decide what else if anything I want to put in the canopy. I am toying with the idea of taking my T5 fixture apart and using it to run 4 actinic blue bulbs. My MH bulbs now are Phoenix 14k, so they are kinda blue already.

Just for you Dave, hehehehe:mrgreen:

I also spent a good part of the day ripping apart my old T5 fixture. I mounted the ballasts, and lights with reflectors in the canopy as well with the MH. Pics on the way shortly.

I guess I should have put this in my build thread. Oh well, I'll put it there as well.
