Look at the last pic from yesterday. On the right side of the echino there are pink tentacles coming out of it. They look like hair-thin stings of pink bubble gum. Those suckers came out and reached all the way over to the zoas on the rock and were completely covering the zoas. The zoas had to retract.
Now that I look closer at this rock, I can see where the enchino has encrusted right over a few other zoas. It's stinging the ones still on the rock and I'm sure it will kill them eventually too. I had to frag this thing last night about 2hrs after I put it into my tank. I busted off pieces of rock around the edges and tried to save as many zoas as I could. I ended up with 3 frags of zoas. 2 of the frags are smaller with only 3 or 4 polyps. One has close to 15 polyps.
I was planning to frag the zoas eventually, but I had no idea this echino would attack them. That rushed me into fragging them ASAP. I hope the zoas survive. They are pretty stressed.
