I had one in my Red Sea with a closed top and while I had the lid open I took 5 steps away to rinse something in the sink, turned around and then took a step back and squish. Stepped right on him. He jumped in less than a minute.
Better now instead of later when you're really attached to him.

Sucks bad man, I had the same thing happen a while back. If I get another my glass tops go back on, enough gas exchange in the sump.
