I think it has something to do with the optics used now a days.....the panorama's dont have that. Just look at how poorly the panorama's look next to any LED fixture now a days. Those LED's were stacked right next to eachother, practically on top of eachother whereas these newer fixtures they are further apart...

Looks great Sam. Love the black sand and the whole set up really. Extremely jealous here. Any ideas on what your going to stock it with as far as fish and corals?

BTW those are killer PAR levels with 1w LEDs tho.

Thanks! I want it to be a macroalgae tank. I'll probably throw in a clam, anemone, and some soft corals though. As for fish, I'm thinking mandarins. :)

If I go with mandarins like I'm planning, it'll probably just be mandarins so that I don't have to worry about other fish outcompeting them for food... :(

True true....maybe they will make babies :p. I always thought it would be rough to keep two in the same tank.

I read Gigaah's article "My experience with Mandarins and a particularly picky new addition." He seems to have had luck with keeping multiple mandarins, so hopefully I will too! ;)

Especially if you get them trained to eat frozen foods, or buy them already eating it.

Yeah. Wherever I buy them from, I'm going to ask them to feed them first so I can see how they're eating.
