Yeah, tried to explain it to the lfs, but he just kept saying he "always" gets white nems from his distributor and no buyers ever complained! I told him that he should address that with his distributor and maybe his customers weren't complaining bc they weren't knowledgeable (as I was not either) on the issue and just chalked it up to nems being so sensitive.

Its very common for nems to bleach after being collected, and uneducated buyer love the white look. And very few lfs actually care about the animals once they leave the doors, they just want the money in your pocket.


Good for you for taking that up with him! Not too many people have the guts to do so. Also you find splits of nems that have been in captivity for a while and they will do much better in your tank. Look for a local forum, i bet you will find some good stuff.
