Mushroom ?

well my mushroom split in half with the rubber band but one melted away:grumble: water quailty is excellent.
Do you think the melted mushroom will screw up my water quality?
and is this normal?

Something that small probably won't make a difference. At least you still have the one.

It won't make any difference to your tank. for the mushroom to split, you want to get the center of the shroom cut in half. sometimes, getting a smaller piece will result in another mushroom, but often it just dies. I have found that if the parameters are spot on, the mushrooms just grow wildly on their own. Just be patient

I have done this, just take a sharp razor and just run it across the mushroom kind of like cutting a pizza. It got mine to split like crazy. I think it is kind of like breaking the tips off of a plant to make it fuller. Doing this kind of simulates being grazed upon in the wild. Things tend to grow back stronger.
