mushroom receding with white worm like parasites

My mushroom suddenly has white worm like parasites and is receding. What might be causing this? Are the worm things a parasite. Has been in tank for 6 months and growing. Several other types of mushrooms not showing any concerns. Please share suggestions for cause and solution.

Something close touched it. I have a hydnophora that does this too because it's so big and trying to grow out of the water. I wouldn't be concerned right now.
