I just got a frag of a moon coral and was wondering how you know if these guys are doing well or not... since they don't open and close. Also, i hear they like high light and moderate to high flow, is this correct?
I finally realized that my LFS has one. I wondered what the coral was and now I know. But here you go:MoonCoral
Or Moon Coral
But I truly do not know. Is yours a Favia or a Favites?
For keeping favia, I would say that the coral is doing well as long as you don't see the tissue receding and white skeleton exposed on the coral. You will sometimes see small tentacles extending during feeding time as well.
