Making a Refugium

I am making a refugium to put under my 125 g reef tank. My issue is that because of how my cabinet is built for the tank, I cannot fit anything larger than a 20G tank in the cabinet. Will this be enough?

No.
You can drill a couple of 20g and link them together.
The goal is 50% of the size of the dt (display tank)

I drilled holes into my basement and use that for my sump room.

You can always drain your dt and take out the center brace and reinstall it after you put the sump in. I wouldn't recommend doing it with the tank full.
