This rock is harvested either dry or from freshwater locations. We buy this rock and culture it in our curing vats where the water is allowed to circulate through out live sand, red ogo, and red mangrove vats. The water also circulates through the vats that we place some of our premium rock, which is loaded with beneficial life, including isopods, and copepods. Although the origin of this rock is not saltwater, once cured it is well suited for both freshwater and marine aquaria, and at a price that is easy on the budget of the money conscious hobbyist. [like 2-3 dollars a pound plus shipping cost]
