keeping particles out

i have a hob refugium/skimmer and i get bubbles and paticles flying around because of it.
anyone have a idea of how i can put like a filter in which my copepods wont get stuck trying to enter the dt

You can try using some sort of filter floss or cotton.

I don't want the pods to get stuck in it. :-/

They'll find their way into the dt...just like when people have sumps/refugiums under their tank, the pods still find their way past the bubble trap and thru the return pump, into the dt.

Or else, place a clump of macro algae(cheato) in there to try to catch the particles and bubbles, just before the water exits into the dt.
