Reefing newb
I have quite a few of these. not exactly sure what they are. on rocks and glass. Kind of appears to be an anchor with a thin stem a ball with hair attached to it. Wondering if its some creature/jelly or eggs of some sort.

doesn't look like the aptasia i've seen. I got some aptasia in my fowlr puffer/dwarf lion tank.

I think it's a hydroid as well. You should remove them. Maybe tweezers will work? Or maybe smothering them with a salt paste?

Have you noticed them reproducing and spreading?

I'll have to keep an eye on them and try to remove as many as I can i guess. I don't know if they are spreading as I just noticed them. They are super super tiny.

I did further inspecting and the more I look I realize those things(what ever they are) are EVERYWHERE. I'm just hoping they are eggs from brineshrimp or snails or sumthing lol. because if they aren't i got a problem.

I guess if they are hyroids maybe letting my parameters rise up to like... 20-40 nitrate? for a day or two might kill them? all I'd have to do is let my algae screen go too long between cleanings and the nitrates will rise up then drop pretty fast again when I finally clean it.
Shouldn't do much harm to the rest of my system either for that short period of time.

Anyone got any more input on the situtation? I don't exactly know what to do.

Reeffreak is right they will go away once they eat all their food. Biff and Yote are right too they are still a hydroid.

lol what do they eat?
i've been experimenting with a semi continious style feeding schedule. so they might not run out of food. LOL.
Maybe I'll give it a break for awhile or they might continue living forever! I think they've already been there for over week. I just really got a close look at them recently and thought there were snail eggs till I saw the hairs off of them.

I have no idea what they actually eat. It may be that they simply out multiply their food source in a home aquarium. I just know they come then they go.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll lay off on the brine shrimp and continuous feeding for awhile I guess then. Otherwise they might not go away lol.
