frag tank

we decided not to hook the new frag tank up to the new main tank when it comes time to start setting it all up my question is, with the frag tank alone do I need a skimmer? and do I need a sump/fuge or can I use a HOB filter

I think it would be best to have a sump, fuge and skimmer, especially with raising corals.

if you hooked them up together and your equipment is big enough and good enough to handle it your will be fine without buying new equipment for just your frag tank.

our original plan was to have a tank room built and have the frag tank hooked into the disp. tank but now that the house is coming together we decided to move the frag tank to a different area So Now I need to look into another skimmer like I figured.. the frag tank is a 40 gal do you think and I know that they are a piece of CRAP but I still have my sea-clone would that work for a small tank like that

I built a 29g frag tank with a 20H refugium and a 20L sump which houses my skimmer and return section. Total water volume in the system is about 50-55g.

Making plans to mod the sump and add an auto top-off.
