Reefing newb
I have a 125 I am looking at converting to saltwater. I have a 75 gallon capacity wet/dry filter as well as a 60 gallon capacity biowheel. Will these in conjunction be enough, in addition to live rock, to properly filter my tank?

Wet-dry filters and biowheels are not recommended for reef tanks or tanks that you'll keep inverts in because they tend to lead to high nitrates. If you want to keep a reef tank, using a protein skimmer and a sump/refugium is the way to go.

If you are very diligent about the biowheel and wet dry (thoroughly cleaning them once a week or once every other week), they may not raise your nitrates, but more often than not, that's what ends up happening. People have nitrate problems galore, then they remove the biowheel and wet dry and the nitrates go down.

1 to 2 lbs per gallon of live rock is ideal, so you should be all set there. Why keep the wet/dry and biowheel if you have a skimmer and live rock?
