Featherduster?

Reefing newb
This thing retracts like a featherduster when startled but does not have the hard stem like a featherduster, it has a soft stem and even retracts the stem sometimes. anyone seen something like this, i did a little bit of searching but never found anything close to this.

I have no idea Newb.
I did have a couple of somethings in my 30 that kinda looked like that.
Try feeding it,and see how it reacts.

I've seen close to what you have but not exactly the same.I'm still leaning to a type of hydroid....reef safe BTW.

I believe they are called "cluster-dusters". Smaller versions cousins of featherdusters. I have about a thousand of them under a rock in my tank. They grow a little bit larger than your pic and spread fast. Kinda cool. Good find in your tank. Reef safe.
