Anyone have experience with these skimmers? If there good what would be a decent price for a used one?

ETSS skimmers are top of the line and usually carry a price that shows it.
My LFS runs an ETSS skimmers on all their reef tanks.They get the job done.

Are they ran submersible or plumbed externally?

The downdraft skimmers are very good. You can run it in the sump, but they are make to be run externally.

i was about to buy an etss. they are high end skimmers. and price tag shows like said above. ccCapt talked me out of it and showed me these

i bought the msx 200. im very happy with it. pulls out plenty of skimmate.

I have two ETSS 800 Skimmers and I love how they skim. My only advice against and ETSS or most all downdraft or becket skimmers is the power consumption. You have to run a large pump to make an etss run properly. My iwaski 55rlt running one of my skimmers draws as much as running another metal halide light over my tank 24 hours a day! Just something to think about when shopping for a skimmer. You will love them if you buy one though. But if your electric bill is important do some research on high quality needle wheel skimmers. Whatever you do, the skimmer is not the piece of equipment to skimp on. Just my 2 cents.
