If will work just fine but I would use the bioball section to run carbon in a mesh bag instead of the bioballs.Make sure there is enough room for the protein skimmer you want to use.

Remove the bio-balls and you'd be good to go. There should be enough room on the left side for a skimmer, but I guess it depends on the brand.

I looked at the eshopps sump and just wasn't happy with the geometry of it, and it felt sort of cheap for the price. Instead, I went with the aqueon proflex sump. you can do any kind of sump arrangement you want without screwing with it too much-- wet/dry, berlin style, etc. And, the drains are SO QUIET, all I hear is my returns.
