no this is the very best picture i can get but its not like theres shape to the pieces of white, and they dont move on their own. if you know what green acro normally looks like then it shouldnt be too hard to see the difference from this pic though. its just like a white coating.. it looks like it got snowed on.

I was thinking it was bleaching too, that's why I wanted a better pic.
And if that's green, I'm color blind.

read my thread from the other day about the light blast... its 17.6 wpg now so plenty of light. and my params have been zero up until my roscoes died when it went to 5ppm so my basic params are fine. and as of the other day my alk was 10 and my calc was 460ppm so those are fine as well if im correct. could it be salinity swings? since ive removed the lid and added the new light ive needed a fan to keep the temp regular which its stayed between 78.7 and 80.0 degrees since [which doesnt seem like a big swing to me] however i top up with about a quarter to half gallon daily... is that too much of a salinty change? the highest it has been was 1.030 which scared me but its typically between 1.025 and 1.028

When you upgraded your lights, how did you light acclimate the tank/corals?

Did you check your salinity before and after topping off? Did you pour all the top off water in at once? A 1/2g out of a 10g is 5% (probably more since you don't really have 10g). On my system, that would be about 7g. I would never add that much fresh water all at once.

Even tho I doubt either would cause the bleaching of your other coral and the issues with this 1, what's your mag and phosphate levels?

Now tell me, that pic does not show a green coral...does it? Maybe it used to be green, but that looks like brown. ;)

i started with just the actinics on for the regular cycle and the mh for on hour then every day after that i added about an hour.
no i didnt do it ll at once i did it over the course of about an hour and i know i could have done it slower but thats not tooooo bad.
ill have to get back to you on the mag and phos readings.
