well i got a hifin goby a while back but he never did act right. from the time i put him in he just hid under the rocks. i dont think he ever really came out. idk what that was.
that is common behavior for gobies. when I swapped from my 29gallon to the 125, my watchman (I had him for a year and he was ALWAYS out in front in the 29) disappeared into the rocks for 6 weeks. then one day he popped up like usual. they're naturally pretty reclusive fish, but especially when you first put 'em in a tank because they're building their tunnels in the sand.
as for the garlic, soak your food in it. I know people who use this: Kent Marine Garlic Xtreme 1 oz. Also, you can soak food in vitamins like Selcon.
