Choosing an Automatic Feeder

Good Morning All :)

I will be away from home for about a week and am making preparations for my tank to sustain itself while I am away.

My RODI filter is connected to a water supply and then to a float in the sump, so maintaining my water level will be covered. I also have a battery backup on the system which will run the tank for 36 hours in the event of a power failure.

Feeding is another issue. I have an automatic feeder, but flake food floats on the top and gets sucked into the filter before the fish have an opportunity to eat. Obviously, I can't use frozen foods. Is there a dry food which can be loaded into a feeder that will sink so the fish have an opportunity to eat it?

Anything else I need to consider?

You can pick up a floating feeder ring with a suction cup that attaches to the wall of the tank. Just place it under the auto feeder. You can also get sinking pellet food but they don't necessarily sink right away and much of it can go right down the overflow.
