Bubble algae?

Reefing newb
I thought this stuff was neat, but when googling it based on what it looks like the results are very negative. Is this bubble algae? They honestly look like leaves of a cactus and some are filled with air/water? Lower left corner of the rock on the left. There's also more near the top of this rock. It looks tubular, and not bubble like. Any ideas from these pics?

This looks like a pretty new tank? If so you will of course have algae problems. That brown algae looks very familiar. If it hasn't finished cycling let it finish then do a large water change and see if that doesn't start things looking better. Algae eats Nitrates, phosphates and light. If you remove Nitrates and phosphates with water changes it should stop the algae growth.

It is new, but was an established tank. I moved it with some water, LS & LR (LR was out of water for an hour - LS always under water)

LR has sponges and stuff on it. If you expose it to air something will most likely die causing a small cycle. The longer it is out of water the more stuff that will die. By the looks of that rock it looks right about the 1 month mark just finishing it's cycle with high nitrates ready for its first big water change.

By removing the LR and LS you killed off the life on both things. So your going through another cycle because of all the die off. Do some large water changes and test your water.

DAMN! NINJA'd AGAIN!
