    SIZE - 5.9" (15 cm )

    RANGE - Eastern Indian Ocean, Western and South Pacific

    MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE - 55 Gal. (208 L)

    FOODS AND FEEDING - Feeds mostly on Acropora corals, reluctant to accept substitutes in captivity, vitamin enriched live brine shrimp, clam on the half shell, mashed squid or shrimp on a bleached stony coral skeleton. Once feeding offer crustacean flesh, mysid shrimp, frozen preparations for carnivores. Feed at least 3 times a day.

    AQUARIUM SUITABILITY - 1

    REEF COMPATIBILITY - Will eat stony corals, may be kept with some soft corals with caution.

    CAPTIVE CARE - Reports exist of success with this fish in captivity and feeding on a variety of aquarium foods including flake. This is most likely the exception and although possible make sure the fish is eating prior to purchase. Can be kept in small groups if the tank is large enough and if all are introduced at the same time. Is tolerant of other butterflyfish. Blue dashes develop as the fish matures.
