Biocube hqi skimmer

I have a biocube 29 gal hqi. The skimmer it came with is worthless. I saw the CPR 3 skimmer but someone told me it will only work on reg bio not the hqi. Does anyone have info on this or maybe a suggestion on a good skimmer for it.

If it fits it should work. The only difference in the HQI is the halide lighting vs. pc or LED.
