Bioballs

I'm getting in on this a little late,But heres my 2 cents worth.
The bio-balls IF CLEANED properly wont do anything but dampen the noise of the water falling through filter pad.
I've been runing my wet/dry with the bio-balls and have yet to have any problems with nitrates.BUT,Every week when I do a water change,I take the balls out and rinse them in tap water.

The sound is now really relaxing....I don't mind the noise much. Bioballs are all bagged up and am now sitting in for another cycle.....Pain in my butt.....

Put about half the balls back in and leave them for a week or so,then take the rest out.
That should keep you from having to deal with another cycle.
