It depends on your budget. LEDs are more expensive up front, but save money down the road. Both of them are good enough to keep anything you want in your tank.

+1 biff, at the moment, I think a really high output T5 probably produces a better color in the tank, depending on the setup, but, I think LED's are better lighting systems all over for tank use. In a few years when the price drops we will use them a lot.

LED's have the light shimmer that people like, T-5 do not.

Thats because LED's arent on all the time, they actually flicker while they run.

hahaha yep, just thought I would give technicalities behind it ;) because thats what my cars running lights do and it looks funny in a video.

I wouldnt know anything about halides! lol :P
