Barry's 120 Gallon Reef

I just returned from picking up my new to me 120 gallon tank. Yes I am still alive. Kim is a little pissed that I bought it without consulting her, but I think she'll enjoy it.

Anyone want to help me unload it? She refuses to carry it the 4' it needs to go to the garage.

The dimensions of the tank is 48" x 24" x 24".

It came with a metal stand that has more rust on it then my 13 year old car does.

The back of the tank is blue, but thank gawd it's only a back ground. I'm off to pick up some black spray paint when I take the truck back to work tomorrow.

It needs a major cleaning, and the overflow should be redone with bulkheads as it's just siliconed ABS right now. This thread may be one of the slowest in history, but when it's done I won't have any of the headaches I've had with my current tank.

I'm still waiting for a quote on the stand and canopy cover, but I know already that Art's work isn't cheap. You get what you pay for and he's the best cabinet builder in the area. Old school builder.

Renovation is part of the deal with me getting this tank. I have to finish the basement. Drop ceilings and panel/drywall with chair rail walls. Plus electrical that up to code with inspection.

I've been removing the silicone from inside the tank, and I removed the old overflow. It was missing teeth.

Rob is going to pick up the skimmer next week. I'm going to try it out in the old tank.

I'm going to test the back and bottom tomorrow to see if the glass is tempered or not.

Going to grab a piece of black acrylic tomorrow from work and see if I can build and new corner overflow for both back corners. I'm thinking if I put the heater by the aluminum brake I should be able to get a tighter 90 without breaking the brake or acrylic.

Only if I get the bunny's nesting box done as she's suppose to have babies again next week and get the new table sanded.
