So as my early birthday present, my husband brought home a beautiful pink hammer coral that I have been admiring at our lfs for MONTHS! However, I noticed, while it was sitting in its dip, something was in one of the mouths of the coral. I thought this was very strange and I had my assumptions to what it was. After having it in the tank for a few hours, more appeared. 2 other heads had a barnacle protruding from its mouth. The little fingers just sweeping in and out. Also saw some others on the coral but not on any fleshy parts.
Anyone experienced this before? This coral has been at the store for a while, I'm assuming from the high price tag, and the coral has only gotten bigger since the first time I saw it. I think I'm going to leave them alone and just see if they bother the coral or not. I think they are neat but if they are irritating it then I'm going to have to TRY to remove them.
