Another Live Rock Question

I'm looking to get about 50lbs more live rock so I can finally set up my larger tank. I found a few people on craigs list selling rock cheap. Some of the rock was once live in the tank, but the tank has been dismantled and the rock is dry and in storage. Will I have to cure this rock before adding to the tank or will it act like dry base rock since its been out of the water and dried for a few months?

give it a really good rinse then put it in your tank. wont need to cure again. nothing to die of on it.

True, but you will have alot of decay if there are dead sponges or algae on it. Which might cause nitrate spikes. I would clean it as much as possible then add it over a longer period of time. Like one piece every week or two. Give it time for the CUC to get rid of the dead stuff and the rock you have in there to help cycle the new rock.
