The substrate is a crushed shell/sand from Mexico. They didn't have the small bag of sand, so I said what the heck and gave it a try.

I have a hitchhiker! Turned my light on and went to run errands. When I came home and started checking out my tanks and found this. I am SO excited. And I don't even know what it is! With my luck, it's probably something I need to get rid of. lol

My tank is staying around 76. I have the exact same thermometer in my big tank and it is staying about the same so I guess the heater is working.
