Adding dead rock to live tank

I hope this is the right place for rock talk. Can I add dead rock to my tank that has live rock with my fish? I hope this is not a stupid question but Ive got another 3 gallon trying to cure dead rock to live. The dead rock I want to add to my fish tank does not have anything on it. Its just pure white. The rock in my 3 gallon still has some brown stains I didn't get completely off.

yep, you can add dry rock right to tank. But i would suggest giving it a good rise to get rid of the dusties

+1 LF, give it a good rinse with some RO water.
