Cleaning a HoB Skimmer and Pump?

I am not sure if a HoB pump is submersible.

Cleaning a HoB Skimmer and Pump?

Suggestions? Lots of nooks and crannies that I have no idea how I am going to reach? Try as I might I cannot figure out how to disassemble the pump. I don't think it is doable without destroying it. Do I take everything apart piece by piece and soak it all in vinegar and let water run through it...

    Nano Skimmer

I had the Reef Octopus BH2000 on my 29. It did a great job. However, we converted that tank to a freshwater and the skimmer sat unused for 6 months. I am just firing it back up t use on a different tank and am having pump issues. I think there is some cleaning I need to do to the pump.

    Neptune Apex Controller?

Thanks all. Ordered it today. LFS convinced me not to get the salinity probe. The tank sits about 5 feet from my router so the wired aspect of it does not matter too much to me.

    Neptune Apex Controller?

I am in the process of building my 120g Marine Reef. I am running a Sump with a Reef Octopus Skimmer, Reefkeeper 48" LEDs, 2x 1500gph Hydor power heads. I am thinking I want a Neptune Apex controller with Ph/Temp/Salinity probes. What are your thoughts on that purchase?

Why is that? Not being smart, I am genuinely curious.

    Re-introduction and a new tank

I introduced myself here a couple of years ago, but my wife and I sort of got out of the hobby and converted our 29g into a freshwater. The tank didn't do well with our move into our new house, we had a protein skimmer leak and some coral die. We got mad at the skimmer leak (that we didn't...

    CuC for 29 Gallon

I have quite a bit of detritus on the floor of my tank. I am thinking that my clean up crew is just not enough. In the tank right now I have the following: Scarlet Cleaner Shrimp Blood Red Fire Shrimp Yellowtail Damsel Turbo Snail Cerith Snail Nassarius Snail 2x Red Hermits 1x Blue Hermit...

    New LEDs today.

I was doing some research and it appeared that a small, longhorn cowfish could do well in a 29g, but that of course may not be true as you indicated. If it cannot handle a 29g I have a feeling we will be buying a new house and a 200g+ aquarium much sooner than I had anticipated.
