Percula Clown

Tank FOWLR parameters are Nitrate, Nitrite, Phosphate and Ammonia all at 0 ppm, Temp is showing 80 and salinity is at 1.0245. I change the water weekly and use RO-DI water. Today my wife found my percula clown, that I had purchased as one of a pair in mid May, laying on the bottom nearly motionless except for breathing a bit heavy. Upon further investigation, I noticed what looks like a black hair sticking out of his mouth, so I tried to remove it and when pulling it out of the water, it looks as though he is "hooked" on it. His coloring is slightly lighter than normal. What could this be?

Temp is fine.

I don't really have any ideas for how to help your clown, though. :(

I hope he pulls through for you.

He died last night, nothing noticeable as far as being discoloured or anything till the very end. He was perfectly normal before yesterday.

Sometimes they'll get something like that stuck in their gills. Sorry about your fish. I have no idea what it was, except maybe he tried to eat something he shouldn't have.
