14 gallon Bio cube black sand

Reefing newb
Hey all I changed my sand from white to black. Also figured I would show the progression of my tank from the point I took ownership of it till now. I've had the tank about 8 months now. The aquascape is still a work in progress. I plan on adding some dry rock in the next month or so. Please feel free to comment.

sexy when ur rock gets full of coralline algae then ur tank gets filled with coral that black sand will make ur coral color pop

I added some dry rock and re-scaped today and like it much better this way. I may add a few more chunks to the right upper side but this will do for a while. Any feed back is welcome. I think I'm about due for some easy to handle corals.

hey, just found your tank thread and i think your tank is great.... how come you havent updated in such a long time?? hows the tank??

Thanks, I'll try and get some updates soon. i've got some new rock and just had some snail eggs hatch about a month or so ago. I'll try and get some pics of the little guys.

those tube structures are vermetid snails. can become a huge nuisance; as bad as it may sound, you might want to kill them before they get out of control. a paper clip works nice; only reason I say so is that my tank is crawling with them. theyre reef safe but the nets they cast are an eye sore and can irritate surrounding corals. plus they reproduce like rabbits. I think one rock alone in my tank has over 100 on it... another thing; theyre tubes are sharp on the small ones and can cut you when handling rocks.

Here are some pics from tonight. I took out the tube snails a while ago but thanks for the heads up. I've noticed some new critters cruising around lately that I think are baby nass snails. Maybe someone could give me a possitive ID them. There are about 8 - 13 of them that cruise the glass, sand and back wall.
Thanks

no problem; wish I was a little more progressive at removing mine, they spread so quickly and I let them get out of control. Cant stand them, that and asterina stars. same concept; if you see one, remove it haha.
