I have a few issues I'm thinking of doing with building a custom sump for my 55gal tank. I have a cascade 300 HOB filter, and a Reef Octopus HOB Skimmer, with a powerhead fan. If you look at the left and right lower cabinets they are 19X15.5X19 and wondering what type of sump set up can I use? The protien skimmer just barely fits in the cabinet, and could be incorporated in some type of tank. My tank is not drilled. I don't know what set up would work the best but I'm thinking of either having the skimmer, and heater in a small tank on one side, have the water pumped to the other side of the cabinet to a refugium & return. But not sure how many pumps i would need etc.
Or we have a small room where the AC/Furnace is directly behind the tank closed off from the basement. I also thought of drilling a hole threw the wall into a decent sized sump tank. But what type of pump (GPH) could I use to move the water effectively?
Thanks
