White tips on Xenia

x19

Reefing newb
I'm not sure if this is new or not, but I just noticed that my Xenia have developed white tips and the end of each finger. Its actually quite attractive, but I'm not sure if they are supposed to look this way. The Xenia is pulsing fine.

The fingers also appear to be thinner then they were before. Causes? Well, a fair amount has changed in the past weeks:

• New tank position, though same depth
• More flow added to tank
• Week 2 of carbon dosing vodka (.5ml no signs of bacterial bloom elsewhere)
• Saltwater from a different store used this week - I start making my own tonight :-)

Levels:

1.027 Salinity - Overcompensated for a drop to 1.023 and working on reducing this back to 1.026
Temperature - 80.8
Ammonia - 0
Nitrate - 3.5 ppm
Phosphate - .5 ppm
PH - 8.2

Power compacts, about 6.4 watts per gallon...the xenia are pretty close to the top. Taking another look, I am thinking it might be bacteria related to the carbon dosing. Note the white the bottom left of the coral.

Strange that I don't see any white build up anywhere else in the tank.
