Just a word of caution about Vodka dosing. Don't drink it while dosing. One tends to screw up the dosing doing that and can be a disaster.

my lfs don't have the treatment i need. have to order it, and to top it all off my skimmer just crapped out not good timing be about a month before i can replace it

tang just died think I'm in the beginning of a total tank melt down looked fine was eating when i left for work. FML!

positive note when i tear down the tank to start over it will get rid of the aiptasia or i can just grow a tank of them!

Just siphon out as much of the cyano as possible and do a 30% water change.Then kill the lights for 3 or 4 days.After the lights out,do another 30% water change the day you turn the lights back on.
You dont need any treatments to get rid of cyano.

3 or 4 days without light wont hurt it.But it'll sure be hard on cyano.
Think about the wild reefs.They dont get blue bird days 365 days a year.They are time when they'll go for a week and sometimes longer when its cloudy and stormy.

Aiptasia won't be killed by the lack of light. Sorry about your Tang and tank troubles. We've all gone through it. This too will pass.

should have been clear i had to order aiptasia x online and turned off my lights after my water change. and ordered my new skimmer to so hope it hurries up and gets here.
