What kind of worm?

Smack dab in the center of the pic...Is this a gray bristle, or something else? and is it friendly or harmful?

Its a bristle, some people find them to be pests some leave them be. Your choice.

Thanks, so far I have been of the harmless school of thinking. Up till now I had only seen red ones, so I wasn't sure. :)

I've had a bunch of these guys in my tank for about a year now. Never had any problems. Just carefull not to touch them with bare skin. They sting.
