What is this bug?

:^: I have many of these bugs in my 20 gal. I saw small ant like things on the rock a couple of months ago and now I don't see them but rather have these. They seem to be about a 1/4 inch in size.

I would do a search on different kinds of pods and see if you can find a better picture. Most likely its harmless and will make good fish food but check out Cirolanids and make sure its not one of those.

I did look at the Cirolanids and they do not have the paddle on the backs like these do but they also don't look like the a's and c's online that I've seen. I just don't want to get them into my new 75 if they are not good bugs.

Should I try a Green Mandarin and see if it will eat these. 7 months ago I did put copopods and a product called "reef bugs" in this tank.They don't seem to be bothering the few corals that I have in this tank and the couple damsels and pajama fish that are with them aren't eating them.

They are slow moving and don't swim unless they fall from a rock..like to hang out on rock and sand.

ewww ok im not sure what these are called, BUT i have seen them before, every so ofton i go on fish trips and one of the times i was up there, i watched a good friend of mine pull one of these out of his customers tank, hes said there fine with somethings, but not all....i would pull it out just to be sure, ad im goin up to visit and learn more tomorrow, so i will ask and try and get more info for you
