I have a biowheel and protein skimmer. Those are the only 2 things moving water in the tank. What would be better, koralia 1's or 2's? I plan on getting 2, one for each side pointed toward the center / top of the aquarium.

for a 55 gal i recommend two #3's

i would get 2 k3 or even 4 of them.

I think I will get 2 #3's to start off, then maybe if I need something else I can grab another to put in the center facing down?

Agreed,
2 K3s and ditch the Biowheel...It's not necessary.

I'm using it for carbon right now. I probably will ditch it completely when I get a sump system in place. I went ahead and order 2 3's. Once my other 25lbs of live rock get here and the koralias I will be set!!!
