Water changes

Need some opinions or from personal experience. Are water changes really necessary? For example if I'm dosing and I have very low phosphates and damn near 0 nitrates. Is there really a need for a water change if I don't need to dilute any high elements?

well i know there are trace elements that get replenished with the water change that you may not be dosing if nothing else go longer between them and see how it goes

Thanks Emmett that's what I was thinking as well. Only reason I ask is I've got my dosing down now, but, when I do a water change it messes it up for a few days after. Even if I dose my new water (that I'm adding) to match my old water. Any other suggestions?

not really sure i dont have to dose my tank yet but im sure i will sooner or later
