UV Sterilizers

Hello Everyone,

I have a question regarding UV Sterilizers :question: . I had for a number of years a Oceanic 42 gallon salt water tank. I just placed an order for a new Oceanic 70 gallon reef ready tank :bounce:

I have upgraded to Aqua Clean wet/dry filter system and new Orbit total lighting system, but I am not sure if I need a UV Sterilizer.

I have not used in the past and had no problems with the tank, but I am not sure with this system if is necessary.

I have run a system with both, and truthfully... I think... (Stress I Think) they are good for when you introduce new fish to your tank helping get rid of any out break of ich. Fishman uses one on his tank to help keep algea away.

Check out helpful articles page 1. there is an artilce on uv sterilization. Once you are comfortable as to what a sterilizer will do for your system you will be able to decide if you need one.
