I would go with T5 HO(54w) and not the T5 Normal output thats rated at 28 watts or was that 36 watts.?

i got the 36 inch t5 fixture with 4 bulbs each is 39 watts for a total of 156 watts over a 29 gallon tank.

for sps they recommend another color bulb made for sps which is a 11,000k
t5 i'm gonna buy some from thereefstop.com since i get a 10 percent discount there.

Yote, how well does the 8 bulb fit on top of your 55? Do the lights over shoot the aquarium? and can you use the stands that come with the setup?

The 8 bulb light will pretty much covers the top of my 55,but the stands work fine.The whole fixture is like 12" wide.
I really hadnt paid enough attention to notice a shimmer.I'll have to look for that after while.
