T-5s 40 inches?

Doc

I don't work for anybody
I have a unique problem for my work tank. I cannot fit a 48" fixture on it. try as I like, NO GO. so, I have been forced to deal with PC that are lousey at best. I want to put in SPS and cannot with the current crappy wattage. I have been looking into T-5 on the 2 drs site, but cannot seem to find anything with enough power to keep SPS. The best I can find in T-5 is 36" with 4 bulbs that hit like 150 watts. I just don't think that will work. I looked at MH but the cost is prohibitive since I have been put on a budget. Ideas?

Is the 90 gallon and because it has a canopy you can't fit a 48'' fixture?

48'' retros are shorter than their stated length.Go with a 48''(6 bulbs or more) if they fit or do a 36'' retro with 6 or more bulbs.

A six bulb Icecap retro or Tek retro or Tek fixture will work.

it is the canopy that is causing the problem. It is also a custom-:pooh:-acryllic tank that is actually less than 48" and taller than 24". I don't think the 48" fixture would fit even without the canopy. Would that 36" work to keep SPS?

BTW, the whole DIY thing, yeah,.....not me. Plus I don't have time to attempt such a feat whle at work. I am pretty busy rehabing perverts to break down a DIY thang.

Ever thought of hiring somebody to install a retro Doc?
Might cost a few extra bucks, but at least you'd be able to get some wattage.

true, but I am on a budget. I only get $100 a month. that would take a long time to save. I would be better off saving for the 36 inch 500 watt MH that the 2 docs sells.

That 36'' Tek fixture with 6 bulbs will work just fine.It doesn't have cooling fans so you will need to add some if its going in a canopy.
