Stuff behind my preskimmer box

I know everyone always talks about white stuff in their tank on the glass and it can get confusing as to what is what, but I can't really help with a picture because I don't have a camera or a desire to move my skimmer.

Anyway behind my skimmer box and actually inside of my AquaC Remora skimmer (not the skimmate cup) there are these little white blobs all over. they are prob only a couple millimeters by a couple millimeters and they don't move at least from what I can see. They don't look like bugs but more like just a blob of white stuff. It is not the same as what I classify as snail or hermit poop that I also see on my rocks and glass from time to time and they don't appear to be turning into snails. Any ideas?

sponges. they are filter feeders adharmless

Yep, sponges. I have them growing on all the equipment that's in darker areas.
