Just a note as a follow up to my high nitrates in my 150 reef tank...just ordered a
Aqua C 240EV with a MAG 18 pump....hope to knock these nitrates for a loop!! Is anyone using chaeto in the sump to reduce nitrates? Sure would have been a lot cheaper than this skimmer....GO TARHEELS!!!!:^:

Chaeto is an excellent way to reduce nitrates, even better than a skimmer in my opinion. There are lots of other benefits to having a refugium as well. I wouldn't go without one.

If you need the chaetos dont buy them ask for the "Magic Chaetos" It more powerfull then the normal one :P

+1 on the chaeto. I noticed a huge difference in my tank after I added some.

I have chaeto....worked great in my 45g when I got it to grow really fast, and my nitrates were 0 all the time....and I'm just now finally getting it to grow on my 125g, so hopefully my nitrates will go down as well.
