    I turned the light off early today in my mantis shrimps tank, and after about an hour, I came back in my room and got a fishy smell coming from the tank, like the bad kind. for the first time, I saw tons of these little white guys, probably 30-40 of them, but there's probably more, in the corner of the tank on the sand, in the rock, etc.

    I circled it in the pic.

    Sources of the smell, idk. But I did lose one baby clown in the tank, and I didn't find a body, left over parts, or any evidence that my mantis did it. He has been hiding a lot lately, i think I'm having a little spike in nitrates.

    Going to do a water change tomorrow.

    let me know!

    Looks like a Mysid shrimp. And they are quick little buggers too!

    Live mysid - cool! If your mantis has been hiding a lot he might be getting ready to molt.

    Yea i know. Hes been hiding and being shy for waaay to long now though. He only takes food every other day now, and pushes food away when he doesn't want it. I was mainly concerned about the smell
    So im guessing mysid shrimp are good? First time ive seen them in this tank

    I also have those! I found them under my Zoa yesterday. They are ok right? Plus I found some sort of tiny clearish-brownish centipede bug that moves slower climbing all over my live rock. Any ideas? And just found a sponge!:D

    The clearish-brownish bug is a bristleworm. They're ugly but they're good guys.
