You just run phosphate removal media anyways... It's media like carbon, you can run it in a reactor or in a bag in a high-flow area.

Would that be different than having a bag in my hob at the moment? I know they're nitrate traps but my nits are totally level. I haven't changed the carbon in almost a month though. I'll run and get a new one today

Yeah.Phosphate media is different than carbon.Most folks use a granulated ferric oxide ( rust ) to remove phosphates.
