Skimmer used a lot of water.

I just put my skimmer into my sump and had to put in like 1 gallon of water to level it off.

I think I added a bit too much because the water level is now to high and skipping the diffuser sponge and going right into the third chamber but no bubbles in the tank.

I noticed when I did a power off and back on the syphon hole that keeps it from flooding also helps throw back a billion bubbles on restart. Will this be an issue if there was a power outage and it came back on.

They only hang around for about 5 minutes or less it seems before they clear up.

The bubbles are normal. The pipes fill up with air and are forced out of the anti syphon hole. It is better having your tank drain because of a power outage and ruin your floor.

As for the gallon you added, that gallon was used to fill up the extra volume of the skimmer.
